British journalist Maxim Tucker from The Times decided to talk to Ukrainian soldiers from the Black Forest Brigade to establish the details of the hunt for enemy troops and military facilities using drones, HIMARS and Storm Shadow. Platoon commander of the "Black Forest" Konstantin said that Ukrainian and British reconnaissance drones are used to identify enemy targets. Tucker wrote about this on his social network page .
Once a brigade detects a target, it quickly transmits the coordinates to other Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades armed with Storm Shadow missiles or HIMARS systems.
The "Black Brigade" mainly uses British Tekever AR3 drones for reconnaissance. They can stay in the air for up to 16 hours . Very often, information for finding the enemy is provided by Western intelligence services. The Ukrainian Armed Forces usually use HIMARS MLRS and Storm Shadow missiles against enemy manpower. American missiles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are usually used against enemy military equipment. One of them is the Nebo-M radar system. In total, the Russian Federation has no more than 10 such installations, and each of them costs more than 100 million dollars. To detect one of these installations, a reconnaissance drone stayed in the air in one place for 50 minutes. Also, thanks to the fighters from the "Black Forest", it was possible to destroy about 30 air defense systems . Western military aid still plays a major role in the Ukrainian Armed Forces' victories on the battlefield. Journalist Tucker calls on the West to continue providing military aid to Kyiv.
Recall, Ukraine will receive additional ammunition for its American-supplied High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems or HIMARS, alongside equipment and training for its forces, as part of the Biden administration's latest weapons package.
The truck-mounted launchers, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, can carry a range of munitions, including the supersonic Army Tactical Missile System, and have proved themselves a particularly effective weapon. Used by Kyiv to strike targets in eastern Ukraine, the system has been described as the country's "backbone against Russian aggression," and as a "symbol of Russian vulnerability."
