LANTAN SCENIC AREA
The Lantan is located in the neighborhood mountains near Chiayi City, three kilometers off downtown , called "red-hair pond" in old days. It was rumored that it was dug by the Dutch 300 years ago, so it is now called "Holland Lake."
HOW TO GET THERE!:
Take the train to Chiayi Railway Station, continue by Chiayi County Bus (Downtown Route No. 1, 2) to Lantan Campus, Chiayi University stop.

CHIAYI BIG PARK
The park was established in the 43rd year of Meiji Reign Period during the Japanese colonial period in the name of "Chiayi Park." The name was once changed to "Zhongshan Park" after the KMT government arrived at Taiwan, but was reinstated in 1997.
Chiayi Park is located in the suburban area of the east Chiayi City. It was first developed along the hilltop landscape. Later, vacant lands to its east and west were included into the park and bridges were constructed and roads built. The park's current measure of area is over 268,000 square meters with tall old trees, waterside pavilions and houses on the terrace, fish ponds rockery decorations, and winding pathways that lead to secluded corners in the park. The design of the park makes good use of the original natural landscape of the area to create tasteful scenery and a free and unfettered ambiance.
HOW TO GET THERE?:
Take the train to Chiayi Railway Station, continue by Chiayi County Bus (Downtown Route No. 2) to Chiayi Park stop.

HINOKI VILLAGE
It took four years to build and it cost NT$ 400 million dollars: Hinoki Village is Taiwan's first forest cultural and creative park, which was in a trial run from January 1 to March 23, 2014. It includes a market of arts and crafts, 21 bookstores, a restaurant serving coffee, tea, and food, Tk Food Fifth Village, a tea house, later transformed into the Mori-Market.

ALISHAN FOREST RAILWAY GARAGE PARK
It is a large-scale railway model museum where visitors can get up close and personal to the retired steam trains, diesel trains, motorized trailers, passenger and freight cars, and the round turntable where the locomotives were switched over. It is a railway treasure trove not to be missed by train enthusiasts.

SUN SHOOTING TOWER
Chiayi Tower is one of the most representative new landmarks of Chiayi City. Looking up from the ground of Chiayi Park, you will see a gigantic Bauhinia blooming against the blue sky. It is the flower of Chiayi City, displaying its beauty under the sunlight on top of the Chiayi Tower.

NATIONAL CHUNG CHENG UNIVERSITY
(F4 UNIVERSITY)
National Chung Cheng University (NCCU) is located in Chiayi, a county at Southern Taiwan. The school scenes in Meteor Garden was not just based on one university. Tamkang University in Tamsui and Kainan University in Taoyuan were also used as a filming location for Meteor Garden's Ying De University.

TAIPING SUSPENSION BRIDGE
Taiping Suspension Bridge is 281m in length at an altitude of 1,000m. It is the longest and highest suspension bridge in Taiwan. The bridge extends from Wangfeng Pavilion in Taiping Village, Meishan, crossing over Sanyuan Rainbow Waterfall, and reaching to Guishan. It allows visitors to take in the view of Chiayi, the sea of clouds, as well as the famous "Meishan 36 bends," and even the Chiayi–Tainan Plain at a distance.
