1938THANKS FOR THE MEMORY Bob Hope, Shirley Ross, Bing Crosby
Since I live in this area I loaded up neighbor kids in one of my long and roomy classic cars a 1956 Imperial Hardtop Southampton. We hit every star home here in this great city of stars...Bing Crosby lived next door to BOB HOPE and after that was Walt Disney's house, turning the corner was Henry Winkler, Joann Worley, Denver Pyle, Gene Hackman, Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Jennifer Beals, Miley Cyrus, Hillary Duff, Jonas Brothers, Ashley Tisdale, Demi Lovato, Zac Efron, Jennifer Love Hewitt...many more stars of Tv and film and soap opera's live on these streets as there's no hustle and bustle like Beverly Hills and is very quiet and laid back...Frank Sinatra and Aviator Amelia Earhart lived in Toluca Lake on the same street...Bing Crosby his neighbor hung out together...Ronald Reagan's wedding reception was at William Holden's house...Surrounded by studios, Universal, Warner Brothers, NBC, and Disney Studio Headquarters you can star gaze at every restaurant...cocktail lounge, or grocery store where you see so many big stars on tv daily or in films...
This house reduced to 23million from 27.5million with 15,000sf, 8 bedrooms and 8 baths and 6 acres of lush grounds a rare find here...Walled and gated, the property includes a two-bedroom guesthouse and staff quarters. The living room features walls of glass framing a landscape of gardens, a putting green and a pool.
Picture 1 is an aerial view of Bob's house in Toluca Lake California...On the grounds of the home that Bob Hope and his wife, Dolores, built in 1939, you'll find a formal rose garden and other planting areas, a single-hole golf course, an outdoor pool and a glass-enclosed indoor pool, 4,000-square-foot staff quarters, a two-bedroom pool house and of course the main house with elevator, 15,000 square feet...
2. Main Gate Entrance where I parked and walked up the driveway
3. Entrance door where Bob gave out Memorabilia not CANDY to each child including me each Halloween...
I saved everything unopened with his Caricature on it and written was 'Thanks For The Memory' his theme song since 1938...and it was signed also...I treasure them as Bob was the finest Humanitarian I have ever known receiving over 1500 awards and Entertainer of the Century...
I had friends who worked for him for decades on his shows and USO tours to WAR ZONES at Christmas time...he entertained the troops with bombs going off risking his life and his crew...

Thanks for the memory
Of rainy afternoons, swingy Harlem tunes
And motor trips and burning lips and burning toast and prunes
How lovely it was!
Thanks for the memory
Of candlelight and wine, castles on the Rhine
The Parthenon and moments on the Hudson River Line
How lovely it was!
Many's the time that we feasted
And many's the time that we fasted
Oh, well, it was swell while it lasted
We did have fun and no harm done
And thanks for the memory
Of sunburns at the shore, nights in Singapore
You might have been a headache but you never were a bore
So thank you so much.
Thanks for the memory
Of sentimental verse, nothing in my purse
And chuckles when the preacher said "For better or for worse"
How lovely it was
Thanks for the memory
Of lingerie with lace, Pilsner by the case
And how I jumped the day you trumped my one-and-only ace
How lovely it was!
We said goodbye with a highball
Then I got as "high" as a steeple
But we were intelligent people
No tears, no fuss, Hooray! For us
So, thanks for the memory
And strictly entre-nous, darling how are you?
And how are all the little dreams that never did come true?
Aw'fully glad I met you, cheerio, and toodle-oo
And thank you so much.
