Over the Rainbow Wizard of OZ ", also known as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", is a ballad by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Yip Harburg.[1] It was written for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, in which it was sung by actress Judy Garland[2] in her starring role as Dorothy Gale.[1] It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and became Garland's signature song.

Rainbows… always are a sign of magic for me.. a sign of a message from someone or something… a sign of hope … a small miracle.. and a reminder that even in the darkest thunderstorms and rain that life may bring to us… a rainbow finds a way to come through with the first rays of sunshine after a storm.. and that’s something… however bad things may be… at some point there will be a rainbow shining through.., even though we may not see it at the beginning.
