Removing Torsion Bars are a real pain! Hopefully, these two tips will help you successfully remove your stuck torsion bars on a GM, Cadillac, Yukon, or Denali truck.

Tip #1: Get the tire into a neutral spot so it’s not on the ground and not just hanging in the air. You want to relieve the torque on the torsion bar so put a Jack under that side while the truck is supported on Jack stands.

Tip #2: Take out bolt that presses on the key (the one facing the ground) and take out the bolt that holds the crossbar the key sits in so you can move it up or down do get a better angle and hammering the torsion bar. You want to hammer it towards the front of the truck and you’ll need to do this through a small hole in the crossbar.

Note: I’m not a mechanic and nothing I do is proper so follow at your own risk.
