This week's Parkrun story comes from Armley and my first for about 4-5 weeks, some of which was injury, so it was great to be back.

The run goes in an anti-clockwise direction, starting by the old water fountain. It starts on tarmac as you curve round running up an incline before bending left at the back of the park. After a short stretch you make a right turn through a gap in the trees to enter the field. The path then runs between the two football pitches and then circles around the edge of the field, passing a wooded area. Finally, it heads back to the tarmac path towards the front entrance and returns to the old water fountain. This is repeated three times with the final lap carrying you on a little further up the incline again, but you only go about half way up before branching off left to the finish line. It's a great vibe and course, but can be little tricky in bad weather - you are running on grass at the end of day, but it's certainly worth a step out.

There's street parking, a nearby mini retail park and parking available by the park - this is very limited though so arrive in good time.

Today was my first run of the week after a 10k last Sunday, so was a little sluggish to start with. I have ran the Armley Parkrun 9 times now with today's time 25:09, which is slightly off my location PB but I managed a top 10 age category finish which, for some reason, is a big deal to me.

A little about me. I have been running, or taking it seriously, for about 18 months now. The aim really was to aid with my mental health and I must admit I am loving it. Since turning 40 I have found myself doing more Parkruns, more medal races and more walks so I decided to buy a GoPro, along with a Garmin watch, and record them and make them into a YouTube video(s). I don't plan to commentate on them, it's more to give folk an idea of what the course is like beforehand. Hopefully, these videos will also give you some parkrun ideas.
