In the 1980's, Star Wars comics were all that we had. The most challenging time of my young life was between 1983 and 1986, the period between the release of Return of the Jedi in movie theaters and the film's eventual release on home video. For reasons no one understands, Lucasfilm opted to torture their young fans by having us wait nearly three years before we could see the film on demand at home. Known by younger Gen-X'ers as the Dark Times, we had to consume whatever we could to get our Return of the Jedi fix.

Marvel Comics Super Special number 27 was the comic adaptation of Return of the Jedi. It was released as both a series of four individual comics as well as this single book compilation. Join me in this video as I revisit the most important Star Wars comic book of my young life.
