ऐसा कहा जाता है कि श्रावण मास में विभीषण हर रोज सुबह 4 बजे इस मंदिर में पूजा करने आते हैं, पर उनको कोई भी नहीं देख पाता, महाभारत काल से भी पुराने इस मंदिर की मान्यता है, कि यहां पर पांडवों ने अज्ञातवास के दौरान इस शिवलिंग की पूजा अर्चना की थी, ईश्वर महादेव मंदिर अपने चमत्कार के लिए पूरे देश में प्रसिद्ध है, यहां हर रोज सुबह 4 बजे कोई अदृश्य शक्ति आकर शिवलिंग की पूजा-अर्चना करती है, पूजा करने वाला कौन है, यह आज तक रहस्य बना हुआ है.

Ishwara Mahadev temple is located in the forest of Pahargarh area, 60 to 70 km from the district headquarter, Ishwara Mahadev located in Biyaban forest is self-proclaimed, which means that this Shivling has manifested itself. According to the belief, Vibhishana, the brother of Lankapati Ravana, did penance in this temple during the Ramayana period.
Who offers Belpatra after worshiping Shivling at night, it remains a mystery till date, after the King Maharajas on the temple, at present, many people of TV media tried to know its mystery, but they did not get success till date.
