Senator Sharon Hewitt discusses two of her education bills for this legislative session in this interview with William Wallis. Senate Bill 190 establishes The Computer Science Education Act, and creates a task force to better understand the computer science skills that our students at every grade level so that we’re building a pipeline of students ready to go into more high demand technology jobs. Senate Bill 191 will allow high school students to take computer coding in place of a foreign language and still meet graduation and TOPS requirements.
