My first starter run here thid trip.

Local stretch of water between the island where I live and the neighbours.

Got dropped upwind a touch via the little boat, whilst we were waiting for the local ferry to bring our weekly fruit and vege package.

It has been blowing here since I’ve arrived but luckily we are in the lee of the island. On the windward side it gets pretty full on. Lots of Downwinding to be had out there, I’ll probably have to do deflates which I’m a bit apprehensive about for safety/survival reasons, but I can start small. I might look to do some 1-2km runs back to the island to start with. .. there’s nothing upwind of us for 100-200km so any ground gained upwind is into the wild blue ocean.

I winged the following day to this video (today) and found a bunch of great spots and learned more of where the winds makes it over the island. There could be some fun wave winging in the future.
