I cut down this dead Douglas Fir tree to make wood flooring out of it. We get to watch the tree fall down and go boom. I cut it down with my Stihl MS 462 Chainsaw. I cut the logs into flooring with my Woodmizer LT15 sawmill. Thento decide what to do with the lumber. I would like to plane it, edge it, maybe even tongue and groove. It's not CVG, clear vertical grain Douglas Fir flooring, but it still looks good. It's tight grain, should wear well. Although I have never made wood flooring, so what do I know?
