You were probably expecting something different weren't you ( I wasn't expecting the barrel roll either) well all I can say is I choose the other path in the airport to take off because I find it hard to do it otherwise since you really can't turn the second you are flying the dodo ... Before taking off with the dodo make sure to press dodo down and see the sparks (or at least hear them) the second you notice them fast let the dodo down button go and you will be in the air now dodo down is your main button sometimes you might turn around using other turret buttons but don't use dodo up if you don't want to die. Make sure that you have the proper control set (the ones called turret are the controls for dodo) also if you press the dodo up button you're asking for trouble so don't use it untill you got the hang of dodo the dodo down is used mostly when you see the dodo turning up pressing it... at the start press buttons lightly but when you get the hang of it you can press it normally.
I tried to actually land and not destroy the dodo (the graphics load too slow) but I have always destroyed it when I landed on the bridge also it is hard to find the spot where you can jump on the dodo especially if it is destroyed so try to keep it unharmed.
