Swans nest by pond and eggs hatching, birth of cygnets on Hampstead Heath, North West London. Unusually this year one pair of swans built their nest very near to the fence so it was visible. Many people watched in appreciation and delight as the swans built their nest, laid the eggs and they hatched. Eight eggs were laid, seven hatched and now a few weeks later six cygnets are growing and surviving.
