LIVE: Donald Trump holds MAGA rally in New Hampshire

Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump holds a rally in advance of the New Hampshire primary election in Portsmouth.

Donald Trump and his allies have unleashed a blistering multi-pronged assault on Nikki Haley designed to kill off her chances in New Hampshire, where the next contest in the Republican primaries takes place.

In the wake of his record victory in the Iowa caucus, Trump, 77, targeted his former ambassador to the UN in emails to supporters, social media posts and a barrage of attack advertising in the more liberal northeastern state, which holds its primary election on Tuesday, the second of the 50 states.

Having finished third in Iowa, Haley, 51, is a contender for victory in New Hampshire because of her more moderate appeal to its better-educated, wealthier Republican electorate.
