Charles Heberle gave us a presentation on the 5 years he spent in Petrozavodsk at the invitation of the Russian government, to create an educational program for high school students about citizenship in modern society.

He served 28 years in the US Army starting as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and retiring with the rank of Colonel.

He is a third generation Rotarian. His father, grandfather, and he have been in Rotary continuously for 98 years this year. He is currently a member of the Lakewood, WA Rotary Club where he has been a member for 31 years.

He is a charter member and Past President of the Russia-USA Intercountry Committee.

The Rotary Club of Saint Petersburg International is the English-speaking Rotary club in Saint Petersburg, Russia, part of Rotary district 2223. St. Petersburg is affectionately known as the “Northern Capital”, and as the “City on the Neva”. It was established by Peter the Great more than 300 years ago and is the second largest city in Europe.

St. Petersburg International Rotary was chartered in November 2004 and is a mixed club with Russian and foreign members, both ladies and gentlemen. Some of us enjoy wearing bow-ties and some of us high heels to parties. We have been known to quaff a few ales after our meetings.

We actively lead several signature club service projects including Hermitage Benches, Center for Rehabilitation of the Child, and COVID relief. We warmly welcome your support!
