How to use tonal values for realistic drawing

Getting the correct tonal values is by far the most important aspect of establishing depth in your drawing, if the values are incorrect your drawing will look flat. Even if the colour is perfect if the values are incorrect the drawing will not read correctly. As they say... "Colour gets all the honour and glory but values do all the work!"
In this video, we take a look at how to determine the light and shadow families using a value scale and how the correct values make a drawing more realistic.
