Why We Moved to Portugal

The story of how we ended up in Lisbon, Portugal.

Hello and welcome to our channel 👋💗🙏

This is the story of how our little family of 4 took a leap of faith, left everything we knew behind, and moved across the Atlantic from Nova Scotia, Canada to Lisbon (Sintra), Portugal.

Europe called to us and so after settling Portugal as our destination, we booked a flight and set out.

Yes, it was a quick decision and one that has changed our lives, forever.

We made the decision to move to Portugal 🇵🇹

👉 Without ever visiting Portugal
👉 Without taking a scouting trip
👉 Without knowing a single word of Portuguese
👉 ...and only a few suitcases in our possession 🧳

What we did have was the strong belief that life is short and that to live life to the fullest, you have to take some risks.

So we figured out the difficult logistics and moved out of our comfort zone into something new, positive and unknown.

This series will cover everything from the process of moving to Portugal, essential things like how to obtain your Portuguese residency, the best places to live in Portugal, the incredible food in Portugal, and where to learn Portuguese and how to travel around this beautiful country.

And, yes, our experiences with culture shock.
