In this Let's Play video, you will see me play Into The Grid (Steam Next Fest). In this episode, you will see me beat the Expert Core Keeper. Into The Grid is a Roguelike Turned Based Strategy (TBS) Deckbuilder where you are Cyberpunk Runner (Hacker). Into The Grid reminds me of these games with similar game mechanics and theme: "Invisible Inc", "Griftlands", "Rogue AI Simulator", "Heart of the Machine", "Ctrl Alt Deal", "Syndicate", "As We Descend", "Shadow Run", "Fallout", "Dungeon Clawer", "Beneath Oresa", "Gordian Quest", "Trial of Fire", "Guild of Dungeoneering", "Breachway", "System Shock", and "Technotopia". Into The Grid plays in an isometric view format exploring the virtual grid. When playing this game, You get a lot of vibes from these movies: "Tron", "The Matrix", "Blade Runner", "Dark City", "Ready Player One", "Ghost in the Shell", and "Inception". Your goal as a Runner is jack into the Grid. You'll need to explore the Grid looking for exploits and extract valuable resources (shards, hash keys, drivers, and program cards) to build up your program (deck). Then, Break into the Core Room, and defeat the Core Keeper. You'll need to explore The Grid to find the Core Room first, each room has a Watcher Type that will increase your Trace level based on the Watcher Type. Raising your Trace level too high and you will raise the Alarm level increasing the Grid's threat level. Sentinels guard various pathways or Nodes that you will need to fight if you want to gain access to whatever they're protecting. The game is played in Turn Based Strategy fashion with a deck of cards and decisions/ actions on the grid. There is a replayable demo, so be sure to check it out and Wishlist the game! This game is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it.
