Ten Hours of Violet Noise - Ambient Sound - High Frequency

Violet Noise is an ambient sound color featuring high frequencies popular for tinnitus masking. Most people would describe Violet Noise as hiss or sizzle. This is sometimes helps mask ear ringing or fatigue and is also used as a background sound for concentration. Many listeners find this noise soothing or relaxing.

It is the opposite of Brown Noise relative to frequency content. Violet noise is added as a dithering or smoothing agent at low levels to digital recording which can increase listening enjoyment of the music.

The creation process involved a DAW (digital audio workstation), ProTools. A audio signal generator was utilized to create noise which is then equalized to represent the audio spectrum responses of Violet Noise as defined by the broadcast industry in the early-mid 20th Century. The audio is recorded from the generator for 10 hours and then exported into a video editing program, Magix Vegas. A corresponding video is created with custom graphics I made in the video program. The visual is animated, then married to the audio and rendered out to the full length final video.
