Tiffin University - Challenge Conventional Wisdom

To understand who we are and where we are going is to appreciate and embrace the entrepreneurial spirit that has guided us for more than a century. Our motto – without risk, there is no gain – means something here. It is a series of risks that got Tiffin University to where it is today —and it is risk that will continue to propel Tiffin University forward.

Our story is one of grit and determination, of overcoming insurmountable odds with a desire to prove the naysayers wrong. Collectively there is a feistiness in us Dragons that cannot be ignored, a can-do attitude that becomes contagious. Embracing an underdog’s mentality is what gives us a desire to never give up and meet the toughest challenges head on to get things done.

This is not a rallying cry to ignore wise counsel, confront authority or even disregard best practices. Rather, these are deep-seeded convictions we uphold as true and strive to live out. Here you will find that Tiffin University is more than the sum of its parts; it is greater than the promise of a higher education. It is a caring and nurturing crossroads: it represents the intersection of who you’ve been and who you will become.

From athletes, artists and entrepreneurs to international students and those from urban, suburban and small-town settings, we are actively building the most unique and diverse community in the rural heartland of Ohio. What makes us different is the way we have intentionally chosen to approach this thing called “college” with an uncommon focus on opportunity, practicality, teaching and mentoring and belonging.

Only by way of example can we be so bold as to inspire you to join us in embracing this mindset.
