Evolution of Monkey Island Games

The Monkey Island series is set to make a comeback in 2022 following the surprise announcement of the aptly titled Return to Monkey Island. The new game sees original series creator Ron Gilbert back in the writer's chair, and it has been billed as a direct follow-up to Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, the last game in the series he was actually involved with. So in anticipation of the forthcoming release, we figured it was a good time to take a look back at the evolution of the Monkey Island series as a whole.
