Organised by the International Centre on Racism (ICR) and sponsored by the Institute for Social Responsibility (ISR) at Edge Hill University. We are hosting a screening of a new and deeply impactful film about Black History. Wilmington on Fire is directed by African American director Chris Everett and documents events that took place in the U.S. in 1898 when a white mob attacked the black-governed city of Wilmington, North Carolina. Following the film there will be a live Q&A with the director Chris via video link.

The International Centre on Racism (ICR) is a multi-disciplinary research centre. We conduct international research and consultancy, organise academic meetings on new global challenges, and provide workshops for civil society. The work of the ICR is supported by partnerships in Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, along with experts in Australia, North America, and across the UK.
