This discussion is led by Behkish Nassirzadeh from the University of Waterloo. Gas Gauge is an AI-powered security tool designed to detect and mitigate Out-of-Gas (OOG) Denial-of-Service (DoS) vulnerabilities in Ethereum smart contracts. The project has evolved through three major iterations: Gas Gauge 1.0: A static analyzer, white-box fuzzing engine, and runtime verification framework that identifies OOG vulnerabilities, generates detailed reports and suggests mitigation strategies. Gas Gauge 2.0: Prevents unnecessary gas consumption by analyzing loop behavior and inserting optimized guardrails within contracts to improve execution efficiency using LLMs. Gas Gauge 3.0 : Leverages Foundry and two LLMs to automate security validation and gas optimization.

This presentation will explore the evolution of Gas Gauge, its impact on Ethereum smart contracts, and future directions in AI-assisted blockchain security.
