Hate crimes linked to trauma in communities

It's been two years since 10 people were killed in a racially-motivated mass shooting at a Tops Supermarket in Buffalo, and just one month since two officers were killed in the line of duty in Salina, by a suspect police say had antisemitic and hateful content in his home.

A study from last May published by the American Psychological Association shows hate crimes can lead to depression, anxiety and even PTSD in people who take in the information, whether it's rhetoric online or an act of mass harm.
