Alabama’s junior senator on Thursday suggested liberal “rhetoric” inflamed tensions in Minneapolis that led to the shooting death of Renee Nicole Good at the hands of an ICE agent.

“Let’s make sure that we are talking about our law enforcement officers being there to keep us safe. Let’s not incite other people to behave like this and put people in harm’s way, both our officers and American citizens,” Sen. Katie Brit, R-Ala., said during a Thursday morning appearance on Newsmax.

“It’s absolutely ridiculous and it’s got to stop.”

Britt said the killing of Good was “just tragic all the way around.”

“There are law enforcement officers there to keep them safe. They’re there to enforce the law, not create rhetoric that emboldens people to actually push back. And we saw what happened yesterday, which is just tragic all the way around,” Britt said.

“And I think the left has got to stop, you’ve got to be more responsible. And you’ve got to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people who are here to keep us safe.”
