Simulating a Microturbine with CONVERGE

Описание к видео Simulating a Microturbine with CONVERGE

With fully coupled detailed chemistry and Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR), CONVERGE can accurately and efficiently simulate the ignition of a gasoline-fueled microturbine. In the first view, you can see the 3D microturbine geometry, which incorporates a radial compressor and axial turbine. Fuel is injected into the turbine, and ignition is initiated with a realistic spark. Flame propagation is modeled with detailed chemistry using a 30 species mechanism. In the second view, you can see how AMR is used to resolve the flame front of the initial spark kernel and then the full flame propagation. This simulation uses unsteady RANS turbulence modeling with a cell count of around 5 million. The microturbine geometry was adapted with permission by Saeid Mirshahidi (https://grabcad.com/library/kj-66-rc-....

Convergent Science's CONVERGE is an innovative computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software that eliminates the grid generation bottleneck from the simulation process through autonomous meshing.
