The Patek Philippe Annual Calendar is regarded as a large model from the brand yet it sits comfortable and reasonably on the wrist. The watch is 40.5mm around the watch and 14mm thick but features a rounded case blank and bezel. From lug to lug the watch is 49.5mm and features nicely sculpted lugs allowing the watch to easily fit around a smaller wrist. The straps are also able to turn down sharply.

The watch features a high grade alligator leather strap with soft calfskin on the bottom. The strap is completed with a fully polished platinum folding buckle. The heavier clasp allows the watch to have a counter balance, keeping it centered on your watch.

The watch features a tremendous amount of gray-scale detailing from the platinum case to the sunburst slate of the dial. You can see the radial grain as the watch moves through the light. There is a luminescent dot around the outboard of the hour markers and the hands are fully lumed making this easy to read in low or no light environments.

The watch is wonderfully laid out. You'll see a small power reserve indicator under 12 o'clock, sweeping through the 45-55 hour power reserve. There is a neat mono counter at 6 o'clock tracking hours and minutes of the chronograph. Within the subdial is the am/pm indicator. The watch is easily adjusted and features 3 pushers on the case flank to correct the functions.

A relatively unknown feature of the CH28520, is that it is a flyback chronograph. The movement is also automatic winding and is beautiful even when covered by a large rotor. The uni-directional winding movement rotates on unlubricated ceramic rotor bearings extending the life of the watch. From 2006-2009 the model was made with the Geneva Hallmark rather than the Patek Philippe seal making the watch a little more rare and romantic.
