Double chocolate banana bread is a rich and indulgent twist on the classic banana bread, perfect for chocolate lovers. Made with ripe bananas for natural sweetness and moisture, it’s enhanced with cocoa powder and loaded with chunks of chocolate that melt into every bite. Soft, moist, and full of deep chocolate flavor, this bread is perfect as a dessert, a sweet breakfast treat, or an afternoon snack with coffee or tea.


RECIPE OF DOUBLE CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD:

Over-riped mashed bananas: 250g (5 small bananas)
Eggs: 2
White sugar: 50g (1/4 cup)
Brown sugar: 100 g ( 1/2 cup)
Oil: 120ml (1/2 cup)
Yoghurt: 80g (2 tablespoons)
Vanilla essence: 1 teaspoon
All purpose flour: 180g (1.5cups)
Coco powder: 25 g ( 1/4 cup)
Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
Baking soda: 1/4 teaspoon
Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
Cinnamon powder: 1/2 teaspoon
Chocolate chips: 1/3 cup
Chopped walnuts for topping

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Preheat your oven to 160C. Grease a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
2. Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Beat the eggs, white sugar, brown sugar, oil, and vanilla essence. Whisk together until well combined. Add mashed bananas and yoghurt and mix well.
3. Now sift the flour (1½ cups), coco powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon powder.
4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet banana mixture using a spatula or spoon. Mix until just combined—do not overmix.
5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
7. Optional: Sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips or walnut pieces on top for a bakery-style finish.
8. Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
9. Cool in the pan for about 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
