Praco Alabama is one of several town that disappeared along this branch of the Warrior River. This was a mining company town, and as the mine closed there was no need to maintain the company houses for employees that no longer worked for the mines. After awhile, the company came back in and leveled the houses, and the town disappeared into the woods. The town of Powhatan is just a few miles south, and we will look at that town next.
