Suse Tietjen introduces contemporary dance and how it can open up new and different perspectives. She is accompanied by the music of Vincent Straube and two dancers, Alexander Varekhine and Fiona Zinder. Suse Tietjen is an artist, choreographer and dance teacher based in Hamburg, Germany.

After studying Dance Pedagogy at the Erika Klütz Schule für Theatertanz und Tanzpädagogik in Hamburg, she started her own dance company, the Tanzorchester Suse Tietjen.

Inspired by the projects with her ensemble and the arising possibilities of working with dancers and artists from all genres, she decided to fulfil her dream and study a Master of Fine Arts in Choreography at the University of Roehampton in London, UK.

After the completion of her masters with distinction, she went back to work with her company and teach Classical Ballet and Limón Technique at the Erika Klütz Schule in Hamburg whilst simultaneously keeping up her choreographic work in London.

In 2016 she founded THE CURRENT DANCE COLLECTIVE for which she since has worked as director and choreographer.

Her choreographies have been shown at Resolution! at The Place, Emerge Dance Festival and the International Festival of Performing Arts OUTNOW!. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
