The Wichita Art Museum is one of only a handful of art museums in the nation to host the Georgia O'Keeffe: Art, Image Style exhibition. O'Keefe was a trailblazer and pioneering artist; well known for her unique way of dressing to maintain a certain image; and the subject of numerous famous photographs. Dozens of paintings, portraits and articles of O'Keeffe's clothing are on display. "It's not common to have dress as part of an art exhibition," said art historian Wanda Corn, "many artists are not good dressers, so even if we find the clothes, I'm not sure they would tell us much."

As people walk the exhibit, they experience O'Keeffe's paintings alongside portraits and her clothing, which tells the story of O'Keeffe in a way you cannot see anywhere else. "You get much deeper into the backstory and the life of the artist," said Wichita Art Museum Director Dr. Patricia McDonnell.
