Born in Spain in 1807, Saint Anthony Mary Claret was a man whose heart burned with love for Jesus! ❤️🔥

He began as a humble weaver, but he soon felt a call to become a missionary priest.
He preached all over Spain and the Caribbean, teaching people to love God and one another — especially the poor and forgotten. 🌿

He founded the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, also known as the Claretians, who continue his mission today all around the world. 🌍

Saint Anthony loved to write and use the printed word to spread the Gospel — that’s why he’s the patron saint of the Catholic press! 🕊️📰

Even when people opposed him or tried to harm him, he never gave up. His motto was simple:

“The love of Christ urges me on.” ✝️
