The Nigerian Military Debunks Story Of Coup Scare

That military rule is no longer desirable, is not only because it is brutal, but also abnormal. The Defence Headquarters has dismissed a claim of a coup in Nigeria, describing it as a figment of imagination. In a statement in Abuja, the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brigadier-General Tukur Gusau said the claims of a coup and that of putting the Guards Brigade on high alert over unusual movements, are malicious and unfounded. The Defence headquarters has threatened legal action against purveyors of such rumours.
