Planting Yuzu & Sudachi in Cold Climates - Will They Survive? An Experiment

In this video, I explain how I'm experimenting with planting and growing Yuzu and Sudachi citrus trees in my colder zone 7A climate where I'm located in the Philadelphia area. I've heard a range of reports that they can withstand 0-15F. I've also heard you can protect the base of a Yuzu tree using wood chips similar to how I protect fig trees. Supposedly they can resprout and even fruit in the same growing season.

If you've never tried Yuzu or Sudachi, it's a highly flavorful citrus used in various culinary applications. This is my first year harvesting my Yuzu from my own trees, but I harvested 40-50 Sudachi last year (grown in pots) that were candied.

I would suggest trying to grow these citrus varieties so we can collectively understand their potential for hardiness.
