Описание к видео Bob Crosby Show (May 2, 1955) [SHOW FRAGMENT] LIVE CBS Daytime variety show w/The Modernaires

A CBS kinescope fragment of a 30-minute block of The Bob Crosby Show. This episode features Johnny Mercer, famous songwriter, lyricist, and performer, not to mention record executive and many other hats! This show features essentially a promotion for the newly-released film starring Fred Astaire, "Daddy Long Legs" - and features Mercer songs "Somethin's Gotta Give" and "Slue Foot" performed by various singers such as Alan Copeland and Joanie O'Brien singing duet, and Copeland joining in with The Modernaires and the Bob Cats (Bobcats) orchestra.

The Bob Crosby Show was broadcast in the afternoons on CBS September 14, 1953 - August 30, 1957. Singer/bandleader Bob Crosby was the host and star. Also included Joan O'Brien, Cathy Crosby, and The Modernaires. The announcers were Steve Dunne and Jack Narz. Crosby's Bobcats orchestra provided instrumental music. Underrated famous saxophonist Eddie Miller is on tenor sax.

Interestingly, some episodes aired in color at the end of their run - live from CBS Television City.
