📚Description: Whenever Gibson reissues the 80s "Thrash Metal" Flying V and Explorers, they never seem to choose the correct body woods. For the first 1-2 years, they had ALDER bodies and MAPLE necks. This combo made them very susceptible to finish checking but it is part of their charm in my opinion. Transitionally, it is in 1985 when the Mahogany body starts to be incorporated into them.
