When my team all bailed out at the beginning of the first wave of the new Horde Rush game in Fortnite, I decided not to give up, and my persistence was rewarded!

Key strategies:

1. Avoidance! There's a max number of horde spawns, so the fewer you kill behind you, the fewer will appear ahead of you. Kite them, put up walls, use the landscape, zip lines, buildings, whatever you can! And only shoot them when necessary or to maintain ammo supplies.

2. Cube monsters can't swim or fly, so stay in the water as much as possible, and GET A GLIDER. You will need it for the final battle, too.

3. Take down the purple spawners! That's how you get adequate supplies of cube parts to level up the sideways weapons.

4. Get the sideways minigun and level it up as much as possible! By the boss battle, it needs to be at least Epic level, but Legendary or Mythic are better. In this video, I only got it to Epic, but still beat the boss.

5. Save those minigun bullets! Use your AR and shotgun on horde mobs. You need 500 bullets in your minigun at the end.

6. Make sure you get plenty of materials during the breaks. You will need them at the end.

7. The second you arrive at the final battlefield, time is short, so immediately BUILD A RAMP from the roof of a building (or the ground if you must), then drop to the ground with your glider and build another, and another. Then run scaffolding all over the place so you can get multiple angles on the boss.

Use these strategies, and you will master the Horde Rush! Playing it solo isn't ideal, but it sure feels like a cool accomplishment to beat it without any help from anyone!
