About Subhadra Kumari Chuhan
Subhadra Kumari Chuhan (16 August 1904 – 15 February 1948) was born on the day of Nag Panchami in Nihalpur, a village near Allahabad, into a zamindar family of Ramnath Singh. She was a renowned Hindi poet, writer, and freedom fighter. While she published two poetry collections and three story collections, her fame is primarily attributed to her poem "Jhansi Ki Rani." Her poetry books include Mukul and Tridhara*, and her story collections include *Bikhre Moti (1932 with 15 stories), Unmadini (1934 with 9 stories), and Seedhe Saade Chitra (1947 with 14 stories). In total, she authored 46 stories.

Subhadra Kumari Chuhan also made a significant contribution to India’s freedom struggle. Her influence on the political, social, and cultural life of North India was profound. In her short life, she contributed immensely to the country and its national identity. At the age of just 44, she left behind a legacy that is hard to match.

She joined the freedom struggle just a year and a half after marrying the playwright Laxman Singh, spending several crucial years in prison. Balancing family life and raising young children, she devoted herself to social and political service. Her sense of duty to the country and society led her to sacrifice personal interests.

Subhadra Kumari Chuhan’s poem “Jhansi Ki Rani” is an epic saga of courage and sacrifice, depicting the life of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi.

सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान के बारे में
सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान (१६ अगस्त १९०४ - १५ फरवरी १९४८) का जन्म नाग पंचमी के दिन इलाहाबाद के पास निहालपुर नामक गाँव में रामनाथ सिंह के जमींदार परिवार में हुआ था। वह एक प्रसिद्ध हिंदी कवयित्री, लेखिका और स्वतंत्रता सेनानी थीं। उन्होंने दो काव्य संग्रह और तीन कथा संग्रह प्रकाशित किए, लेकिन उनकी प्रसिद्धि मुख्यतः उनकी कविता "झाँसी की रानी" के कारण है। उनके काव्य संग्रहों में मुकुल और त्रिधारा शामिल हैं, और उनके कथा संग्रहों में बिखरे मोती (१९३२ में १५ कहानियाँ), उन्मादिनी (१९३४ में ९ कहानियाँ), और सीधे साधे चित्र (१९४७ में १४ कहानियाँ) शामिल हैं। कुल मिलाकर उन्होंने ४६ कहानियाँ लिखीं।

सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान ने स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में भी महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया। उत्तर भारत के राजनीतिक, सामाजिक, और सांस्कृतिक जीवन में उनका प्रभाव गहरा था। केवल ४४ वर्ष की आयु में उन्होंने देश और उसकी जातीय अस्मिता के लिए विशाल योगदान दिया, जिसकी बराबरी किसी और महिला द्वारा इतनी जल्दी नहीं की जा सकती।

नाटककार लक्ष्मण सिंह से विवाह के मात्र डेढ़ साल बाद उन्होंने सत्याग्रह में भाग लिया और जेलों में कई महत्वपूर्ण वर्ष बिताए। गृहस्थी और छोटे बच्चों को संभालते हुए उन्होंने समाज और राजनीति की सेवा की। देश के प्रति कर्तव्य और समाज की जिम्मेदारी निभाते हुए उन्होंने अपने व्यक्तिगत स्वार्थों को बलि चढ़ा दिया।

सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान की कविता "झाँसी की रानी" साहस और बलिदान की एक महाकाव्य गाथा है, जो झाँसी की रानी लक्ष्मीबाई के जीवन को चित्रित करती है।
