I've been doing a lot of prep work on the boat and am finally doing a couple of layups of fiberglass on the transom and a hole in the bilge that completely penetrates the hull. The bilge hole was "repaired" by a previous owner, but sanding into the area for refinishing, I found the repair had large air voids, was resin starved, poor adhesion, and even uncured resin in its center. Some of the fiberglass peeled off freely by hand. I decided to remove the past "repair" and do a layup repair myself.
