The Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) is the national certification board for dental assistants. DANB offers four national certifications:
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)
• Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA)
• Certified Preventive Functions Dental Assistant (CPFDA)
• Certified Restorative Functions Dental Assistant (CRFDA)

DANB also offers certificates of knowledge-based competency in:
• Radiation Health and Safety (RHS)
• Infection Control (ICE)
• Coronal Polish (CP)
• Sealants (SE)
• Topical Anesthetic (TA)
• Topical Fluoride (TF)
• Anatomy, Morphology and Physiology (AMP)
• Impressions (IM)
• Temporaries (TMP)
• Isolation (IS)

DANB certifications and exams are currently recognized by 38 state boards of dentistry, the District of Columbia and other state dental regulatory agencies.

All DANB exams are administered at Pearson VUE test centers across the country. Each test center follows the same procedure for administering DANB exams. Watch this short video to learn what you can expect on the day of your exam.
