Secretary Betsy Fox Tolentino, the head of the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS), addressed lawmakers in the House Judiciary Committee, detailing how she plans to address issues in the department.

Officials with the Office of the Correctional Ombudsman Juvenile Monitoring Unit addressed lawmakers first, discussing the findings of a recently released report that found concerning conditions in some of the DJS facilities.
