Professor Scott is the Director of the Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London. She uses brain imaging to ask questions about how speech is processed as a sound, the neural basis of speech and sound processing and the social roles of vocalizations. She became the Director of the ICN in 2019, and gave the Royal Society Christmas Lecture in 2017. She has been working with brains since the mid 1990s and her first book is called "The Brain: ten things you need to know."
