What’s up, Kansas City! Memorial Day weekend is almost upon us, and we have so many fun outings for you to enjoy if you’re planning to stay in town. Before we get into our list, we do want to acknowledge that for too many people this weekend will be spent remembering a loved one lost in combat, and we want you to know our hearts are with you and we are so sorry for your loss. We hope that in the midst of that sadness, you can also find joy in celebrating the legacy they left, maybe even with some of these events we’ve lined up for this weekend.

Disney’s The Lion King musical will be at the Music Hall from May 22nd - June 1st, bringing its Tony award-winning visual artistry and storytelling to a local stage. This production is fascinating for kids and adults alike, and if it does end up raining all weekend it will be a fun activity to enjoy indoors.

The Celebration at the Station is a favorite Memorial Day tradition in Kansas City, with tens of thousands of people gathering this Sunday, May 25th to take part in the sounds of the Kansas City Symphony and a fireworks show in honor of the holiday.
