This video features Super Mario Bros. 8 which is hack of Don Doko Don 2 made by Crying Onion. This is an improvement of the bootleg Super Bros. 8.
The original game, Don Doko Don 2, was developed by Natsume and published by Taito exclusively in Japan in 1992. Because its creators never bothered to hide the fact that they were inspired by Nintendo’s mascot, this game is an excellent basis for creating a hack that feels like an official Mario game, or at least, a third-party installment made with Nintendo’s permission.
