Researchers (Dr. Chitwadee Phithakrotchanakoon and Dr. Piyanun Harnpicharnchai) from Thailand Bioresource Research Center (TBRC) under the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) gained valuable experience during the two-week capacity-building session on advanced methodologies and best practices for bioproduct production with fungal platform on July 8-18, 2024. Topics of the training included the CRISPR/Cas system in yeast, the dual luciferase assay as a highly effective system for identification of optimal stop codon or promoter, and the computational modeling of ribosomal peptide synthesis (RPS) for optimisation of protein expression.

This training session will be greatly beneficial for the enhancement of protein production process by researchers in Thailand. In addition, to further convey the knowledge and technology of fungal platforms for recombinant protein production, a 2-day conference will take place in Thailand in November 2024. More information regarding the conference will be available soon.

The collaborative capacity-building session is supported by the Academy of Medical Sciences Networking Grant Scheme [NGR1\1529], UK.
