The Avant-Garde SUV: DS7 Crossback Puretech 225 Review

DS may have been its own brand for four years, following the split from Citroen, but it's yet to actually release a brand new model. That's changed, however, thanks to the release of the new DS7 Crossback, a stylish SUV that's looking to go toe-to-toe with the best of what Germany is able to offer.

It'll need to offer up something special in order to win this battle, but thankfully it's got style, space and comfort on its side, but is it worth having? Find out in this video.

The model tested here is the Performance Line, which is fitted with the 1.6 litre turbocharged four cylinder Puretech 225 petrol engine, a new addition for the DS7 Crossback. It produces 222bhp with 300Nm of torque, with power fed to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic.

62mph is dealt with in a respectable 8.3 seconds, and it will continue to a top speed of 141mph. Despite this clout, the DS7 Crossback feels more at home when you're cruising, especially when you have the Active Scan Suspension that is able to make the ride as smooth as a baby's bottom.
