Maruti Suzuki Jimny Summary
The Maruti Jimny is being offered with benefits up to Rs 2.3 lakh this October.

The Maruti Jimny is priced between Rs 12.74 lakh and Rs 15.05 lakh. Prices of the variants with automatic transmission option start from Rs 13.84 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, pan-India).

The Jimny is available in two variants:
Zeta
Alpha (Both variants come with either a manual or an automatic transmission option.)

The Zeta variant is the most value-for-money-variant as it gets a 4WD setup, the same engine as the top-spec Alpha variant and features like a smaller 7-inch touchscreen but has wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity. Other features include 4 speakers, an analogue instrument cluster (same as the Alpha variant) and manual AC. So, it gets all the basics correct.

However, it misses out on the bigger 9-inch touchscreen, alloy wheels, LED headlights and headlight washers.

The Maruti Jimny has been built specifically to cater to a more off-road specific audience and hence gets a lacklustre feature suite. Highlights include a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four speakers, a push-button start/stop, cruise control, and auto AC.

The Maruti Jimny is a small vehicle that provides decent space for four passengers. It has plenty of headroom due to its tall roofline. The boot space is a tiny 211 litres but can be increased to 332 litres by folding down the rear seats. Some people find the back seat cramped for three passengers and feel the rear seats lack support, making it more comfortable for two people.

The Maruti Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 105 PS and 134 Nm. This unit is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic and it comes with a 4-wheel drivetrain (4WD) as standard.

The 3-door version of the Maruti Jimny was crash-tested by Global NCAP in 2018, where it scored a three-star safety rating.

It gets six airbags (as standard), an electronic stability program (ESP), a headlight washer, a hill-hold assist and a rearview camera.
It is available in five colour options:

Sizzling Red (also available with a Bluish-black roof)
Kinetic Yellow (also available with a Bluish-black roof)
Granite Gray
Nexa Blue
Bluish Black
Pearl Arctic White

We especially like: The Kinetic Yellow colour, as it adds a vibrant touch that instantly brightens any setting, making it a standout choice.

If you're looking for a vehicle that excels off-road and can handle a variety of terrains with ease, the Maruti Jimny is a strong contender. It balances off-roading capability and urban practicality, making it a decent choice for small families.

However, it’s important to note that the Jimny comes with compromises in comfort and practicality. Additionally, while it holds its own as a stylish lifestyle choice, its higher price point may make the Mahindra Thar a more appealing overall option for those prioritising value.

The Maruti Jimny rivals the other off-road focused SUVs like the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha.
