...Source: Transcript: Per InsideEVs, Kia is hinting at a high-performance electric successor to the now-discontinued Stinger sport sedan. While nothing is officially confirmed, Kia design chief Jochen Paesen said now is the “right time to explore those things,” referencing last year’s Vision Meta Turismo concept. That concept featured a sleek fastback design and previewed the emotional styling direction Kia wants for its future EV lineup.

Although the Meta Turismo isn’t a direct production preview, it’s reportedly tied to Kia’s work on a new “halo” electric model, likely using the EV8 name that Kia recently trademarked. It’s expected to ride on Kia’s upcoming Integrated Modular Architecture platform, a next-gen system that will replace the current E-GMP setup with faster charging and lower costs.

Kia hasn’t set a release timeline, but the EV8—which may even revive the Stinger name—could be built in Georgia at Hyundai’s new 500,000-unit Metaplant, which opens the door to it being sold in the U.S. The car will showcase a fresh interior experience too, with fewer screens and a more immersive, tech-forward feel.
