The Devon Island Session is a series of six songs, that No King. No Crown. recorded in July 2019 in Leipzig. And just like the loneliest island in the world – Devon Island – the sessions are all about the essentials: No distraction, absolute reduction to the core, the essence of the songs. And the songs radiate: Rene Ahlig and Ole Sterz play perfectly harmonized versions of the songs arranged especially for the duo setup. The One Takes, shot by Tom Streller in a very noble and minimal setup, were congenially cast in tone by Johannes Frank / Feinklang Mastering. The old analogue equipment produces crystal clear, expressive sound, which in combination with the powerful pictures, the intimate atmosphere and the intense performance of No King. No Crown. unfolds its full magic.
