Alok Kumar has received relief in the high-profile 2019 phone tapping case. The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has quashed the government’s order directing departmental inquiry against him, citing legal inconsistencies.Alok had challenged the government’s decision, and the case reached the CAT where two judges expressed differing opinions. One judge upheld the government order, while the other recommended quashing it. Subsequently, the matter was referred to CAT Chief Justice Ranjit, who oversaw the hearing and final judgment.The verdict ensures that departmental inquiry against Alok Kumar is stayed, and all pending increments and other entitlements are restored. This ruling is seen as a setback for the state government, which had ordered the investigation.

2019ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಫೋನ್ ಟಾಪಿಂಗ್ ಕೇಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೋಕ್ ಕುಮಾರ್‌ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಆದೇಶಿಸಿದ ಇಲಾಖಾ ತನಿಖೆಯನ್ನು ಸಿಎಟಿ ರದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತೀರ್ಪಿನಿಂದ ಬಡ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳು ವಾಪಸ್ ನೀಡಲು CAT ಆದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದು, ರಾಜ್ಯಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿನ್ನಡೆ ಆಗಿದೆ.
